εος: joy, enjoyment; δαιτός, Il. 1.576, Od. 18.404; ἡμέων ἔσσεται ἧδος, ‘joy of us,’ i. e. from us, Il. 11.318; ‘profit,’ ‘advantage,’ Il. 18.80, Od. 24.95. Always w. neg. expressed or implied.
